“Way out east there was this fella... fella I wanna tell ya about.”

Hi, my name is Pól!
Born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, I always knew that film & media was my passion. Constantly drawing and coming up with crazy stories, I dreamt that someday I’d sit in a director’s chair with a cool beret on my head and a coconut latte in my hand, as all cartoony director tropes do.
Studying abroad was something I’ve always wanted to do. I perfected my English by watching movies and television in their original languages - that’s when my love for filmmaking really started to grow.
In 2021, I went a step closer to making my childhood dreams come true when I got accepted into the Film & TV department of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv - also known as Ukraine’s top university! I studied a full year there, wrote a bunch of scripts, and even made a neat little ad for them which you can view here!
Because of our crazy neighbouring country’s shenanigans, I had to stop my studies in Ukraine, take a leap into the unknown, and move to Dublin, Ireland in 2022. Soon enough, I got a spot at Griffith College - that’s where I currently study! Relocating to Ireland opened a million opportunities for me, as most of my projects have been made during my time here. I’ve really grown to love Ireland, so for the foreseeable future I’m planning to stick around!
So, what do I do, really?
I originally came to study film with directing and writing in mind - it’s obviously still something that I love doing. Most of my projects have been on the director’s side of things - drama or documentary, you name it! My works in writing range from comedic parodies to coming-of-age horror stories. And that’s on variety!
Additionally, a big part of what I do is editing and colour grading. For every film I work on, I have a particular look for it in mind, and try to achieve it no matter what.
I’m fluent in English (duh), Ukrainian and Russian so I engage in translation and subtitle work on the side.
And finally, as an art school not-graduate, I sometimes dabble in animation and collage making, doing stop-motion shorts for fun.
And Lastly…
Why majorbeatle?
Well, majorbeatle is an Internet handle I came up for myself in 2016. I was (and still am) a huge David Bowie fan, so the “major” part came from one of his character, Major Tom. And then the “beatle” was obviously taken from The Beatles which I was also obsessed with at the time. So the handle “Majorbeatle” is something that I’ve stuck with for a while now.
I’m really passionate about the things I like, such as particular musical artists and films, and I always incorporate bits of it into my own works. My interests and the things I feel deeply about is obviously a big part of my life, so putting it into my own works, whether it’s films, drawings or collages, is just another way of expressing that.
